Welcome

Summer is in full bloom at the Little Nancy Creek Park Community Garden

We are excited to provide an update on the playground initiative at Little Nancy Creek Park.

Be advised that the attached drawing is conceptual only and subject to change at any time. FoLNCP will adhere to all approval processes required by neighborhood planning units, City of Atlanta government, and any other required governing entity.

Recently, the neighborhood children were invited to participate in the design of the new playground by submitting ideas and drawings, which were transformed into a schematic design.  This design is currently under review by the City of Atlanta Parks Department and neighboring planning units for their approval.  The playground is currently scheduled to be built spring 2011, and the community’s involvement for this project to be successful is essential.  The playground will be completely community driven, and built over approximately five days, exclusively with the help of local residents and businesses.  During this time, we will build more than a playground – we will be building bridges between members of our wonderful community and between the generations of children that will come to here to play.  People who have participated in building community-built playgrounds say that it is a “life-changing” experience.  The "Wacky World" playground in Wills Park (Alpharetta) was built this way.

Please, help spread the word that this project is happening and ask your friends and family to get involved!  Big Things are Continuing to Happen at Little Nancy Creek Park
